Today's song of the day is Like Gold by Vance Joy. Famed indie rock singer-songwriter popular for his top 40 hit "Riptide" has been releasing tracks for his upcoming February LP entitled "Nation Of Two." The first single, Lay It On Me dropped in July, and just last night released the second "Like Gold." The Melbourne based Joy has described Bon Iver as a major influencer, and that type of sound can be detected in "Like Gold." The strong simplicity of the acoustic and the vocals being layered in such a style that can only fall into that category. The song is lyrically about a lost relationship, and Joy is able to portray that in such a soft and soothing manner, like many songs off of his debut album. This upcoming project should certainly be one to look out for!
