Today's song of the day is Istanbul by New Politics. The Denmark-to-Brooklyn based trio put out a solid fourth album in October, this song being one of the standouts. New Politics is popularized for fun, fast-paced, booming and danceable indie-rock, and this song is no exception. The beat is intense and wild and the track has a lot of identifiable electric. The harmonies on the chorus between vocalist David Boyd and guitarist Soren Hansen is impactful and soft, contrasting the punk-inspired background. Brooklyn inspiration is found throughout the work, and this piece included. It has a lot of fun elements and sounds cohesive and well put together!
