There’s No Time Left to Sleep on Femdot
The pieces look to be coming together perfectly for Chicago emcee Femdot to shoot to the top of the rap game.
The 22 year old DePaul University alum has made the most of 2018 to this point with no signs of slowing down in sight.
In June Femdot released his debut album Delacreme 2. The album features grasping segments of story telling accompanied by smooth, relaxed production reminiscent of 10 Day by Chance The Rapper.
Some "can't miss" tracks from Delacreme 2 include "Ryu" and "Alright", both of which dwarf the rest of the album in terms of Soundcloud plays.
The most important song on the project is "0 something" thanks to the wavy visual directed by Cole Bennett that dropped on the 4th of this month.
"0 Something" should be seen as a stand out song on its own without the music video just because of the opening flow Femdot uses on the chorus alone.
The production on this track also can't be ignored.
A slightly distorted piano rolls through the whole song setting pace for a couple of different flows for the Chicagoan to use, all of which are a blend of traditional poetic rap and the quick hitting bars of the new wave.
It's going to be a great ride watching the development of Femdot's music as he continues to distance himself from the underground grind.
According to his website (http://femdotdot.com/) there has been no shortage of press coverage and co-signs (XXL, Fake Shore Drive, Chicago Tribune etc.) further proving just how close to breaking out Femdot is.
Femdot is already on a lot of radars in the rap community and is without question one or two well placed songs away from being yet another household name from Chicago.
