New Music Alert: CYN
Currently opening up for Years and Years on the North American Palo Santo Tour is emerging pop singer CYN. The LA transplant from Detroit makes emotive synth-pop bops, but can also pull it back for a relaxed, more Sylvan-Esso-like song. Fans of said band, as well as of Kim Petras and Ellie Goulding will fall in love with CYN's sound.
"I'll Still Have Me" was dropped last month, and highlights CYN's dreamy and soothing vocal style. You are bound to fall in love with her voice- and her singles are versatile and different, yet still has a cohesive voice behind them all.
"Only With You" feels very electronic and distorted- almost reminiscent of a Flume song- but still is incredibly enjoyable and danceable. "Together" feels very bright and pop-y- a happy love song that incorporates synth-pop beautifully. It is clear that CYN has a dynamic sound, and is certainly capable of surprising you.
The pop singer is signed to superstar Katy Perry's record label Unsub Records. “I found myself in Katy Perry's living room playing my original music on a very colorful piano," CYN tells Billboard. "It was absolutely surreal, but I got to wake up the next morning and tell myself it wasn't a dream.”
Be sure to catch CYN with Years and Years this fall and expect a debut EP to be announced soon!
