AURORA at the Royale in Boston, MA 3/5/19
This past Tuesday, Norwegian singer Aurora Aksnes performed at the Royale in downtown Boston, MA. Having not performed in Boston since 2016, fans young and old were excited for her return. Aurora’s appreciated her fans just as much as she appreciates them, as the singer received over 5 gifts and letters from the crowd throughout the night.
As the night was much warmer than expected, the quirky performer talked her way through cutting off the leggings she wore, as the audience laughed along with her.
Though small, Aurora’s voice and presence filled the room, whether it was her entrancing dance moves, pristine high notes, or warm, genuine smile.
As much as Aurora is an extraordinary performer, she also had the crowd chuckling through the night, saying things like “I slept between 4 and 6, so it’s like I’m having you all for a second breakfast,” and when she wore a fan’s hat, “I don’t think I’ve worn a hat in my whole life…it feels weird…like when you put shoes on a dog.”
The night ended with an encore of 2 songs, as well as acknowledging the show was running a bit late, Aurora exclaimed, “I need to stop talking – there’s school tomorrow!” Despite it being a late show for a Tuesday night, the crowd left feeling refreshed and inspired by Aurora’s magical performance.
AURORA’s USA tour ends this week with 2 more dates:
3/9 – Union Transfer – Philadelphia, PA
3/10 – Lincoln Theater – Washington D.C.
