Who To See at Boston Calling 2019!
May is here and that means Boston Calling Music Festival is just weeks away! It can be frustrating deciding who you want to see, especially since this year’s lineup is so great. Check out my top picks from the festival’s undercard...
Indie Queens to Catch…
Sidney Gish
Playing: Saturday, 12:45, Red Stage
Song to Know: “Imposter Syndrome”
Gish is no stranger to Boston’s music scene. As a student at Northeastern University, Sidney Gish has opened for the likes of Mitski (who also plays the festival this year) and Cavetown. Before she embarks on a headlining summer tour, our favorite loop pedal master will play Boston Calling for the first time.
Snail Mail
Playing: Sunday, 3:00, Delta Blue Stage
Song to Know: “Speaking Terms”

Only 19 years old, Lindsey Jordan, or “Snail Mail”, is already establishing herself as a front-runner in the scene. Since her 2018 LP Lush released under Matador Records. She last visited Boston when she opened for Alvvays in September, then again with a headlining show in December. Let’s all sway and cry during Lindsey’s set at BC10!
For Those About to Rock…
White Reaper
Playing: Saturday, 2:00, Delta Blue Stage
Song to Know: “Judy French”
Kentucky based, punk-rock outfit White Reaper last visited Boston in September with The Struts. They have had three incredible albums under Polyvinyl Records, their most recent being 2017’s The World’s Best American Band. If you’re ready to dance, finger-point, and yell, definitely catch these guys during the festival.
Turnstile
Playing: Friday, 3pm, Green Stage
Song to Know: “I Don’t Wanna Be Blind”
Since 2010, Turnstile has been releasing memorable hardcore records, with their 2 most recent released under Roadrunner Records. These guys from Baltimore bring energy and excitement to each of their liveshows. Last in Boston for a smaller club show this past December, their presence on a larger festival stage with definitely keep the crowd moving. Mosh safely, everyone!
Chill Out With…
Easy Life
Playing: Sunday, 1:40, Green Stage
Song to Know: “Nightmare”
Nothing beats chilling out with some great food and friends whilst seeing a great band. This British group, drawing inspiration from a variety of genres and musicians, will please anyone in your Boston Calling crew. As a fairly new group, we are excited to see what these guys will bring to the stage. Take it “easy” with Easy Life and catch them on the last day of the festival.
