Dizzy at Baby's All Right in Brooklyn, 5/15/19

Oshawa, Ontario's Dizzy brought their beautiful songs to Brooklyn on a warm mid-week evening, taking the early slot at Baby's All Right. It was their first headlining gig in New York City, and the band was received with nothing but love and open arms. The recent Juno winners exuded confidence and passion for their music, and their set filled the room with a dreamy atmosphere from the first note of Swim to the last breath of an acoustic rendition of Bleachers. It was hard to find a dry eye at Baby's when they performed their gorgeous yet heartbreaking track Joshua, first noting that everyone unfortunately has a Joshua (or Joshina) in their lives. It was strangely uplifting, despite the sad nature of the song.

Supporting Dizzy's show was Australian singer Graace, who provided us with songs about life and all of its bumps, including a tendency to overthink - which hit home to some very enthusiastic fans. All in all it was a lovely evening, filled with all sorts of emotions, and it was exciting to catch them in a small space before they hit the big time. It's coming. There's no doubt about that.
