Jon Worthy & the Bends: Something’s Gotta Give

Today, Nashville-based Jon Worthy & the Bends, released their third album, Something’s Gotta Give. It's an indie-folk, acoustic-driven soundtrack that is guaranteed to make you get up and dance or possibly cry in the car, in the best way of course. After a successful second album, produced by Lincoln Parish of Cage the Elephant, the band is diverting from their previous indie-rock sound to try a genre unfamiliar to them. In between non-stop touring, the band recorded their new, experimental folk-indie album Something’s Gotta Give in their hometown at Studio 4115. The album is soaked with banging tambourines, harmonica riffs, and violin solos - instruments the band had never used before in their music, Jon explained to me.

The first single from their new album, “Chasing Dreams,” was released on April 12th. The song is special to the band as it gave them the name of their album and an anthem for their fans to listen to. Jon said, “The title came from the chorus of our song Chasing Dreams, but has since come to take on our battle cry as we continue to grind on the road and build our brand up one fan at a time!”

The band will be hitting a few festivals this summer to promote their new album. Catch them at Musikfest 2019, The River Rat Festival, and The Rhythm and Brew Fest. If you can’t make it to a show, be sure to check out their new album, Something’s Gotta Give on all music streaming platforms!
