Beans On Toast Visits New York City on November 16
Beans On Toast brings a trail of humor and wit with him wherever he goes, and his visit to New York City's Lower East Side was no exception. Gearing up for the release of his new album The Inevitable Train Wreck, which will be released on December 1st - as is tradition with all of Beans' records - he played to a crowded room at Rockwood Music Hall and used his Essex charm to win everyone over almost instantly. He dubbed himself an honorary New Jerseyan, which some hardened New Yorkers jokingly struggled with, and shared stories about getting up to no good at festivals.
Beans sang songs about tedious political events, global warming, the ethics around chicken farming (while learning some German words in the process), and lightening up the mood with songs about his wife and young daughter as well. It felt like we were all in a room with old friends, catching up and sharing a warm moment, though most of us were strangers. Rockwood's cozy atmosphere mixed with an hour of Beans' folk songs and silly tangents brought a warm hug to an otherwise blustery evening, and we hope to see him again soon.
