Peach Tree Rascals Release Music Video and Single 'Things Won't Go My Way'
LA-based alternative-R&B, pop, rock, and hip-hop collective Peach Tree Rascals recently released their single "Things Won't Go My Way" which channel their first-generation immigrant upbringings into their creative mentality, taking a 360 hands-on approach to their music. The five-piece write, record, and produce their music, as well as conceptualize and film all their music videos themselves. Their songs confront self-acceptance, disillusioned realities, and the pursuit of fervent aspirations.
This is their first single with 10K/Homemade Projects (Trippie Redd, Surfaces). The new track displays another layer to PTR’s soundscape with graceful riffs, poignant melodies, and impassioned lyrics. However, while the band finds a new euphoric sound to explore, the single still feels as gritty and dynamic as previous outings have shown. Such as life, "Things Won’t Go My Way" moves at a hasty pace, navigating through sharp sonic turns and emotive vocal deliveries it presents along the path. Narratively, the track relates to the transitory nature of life, how things are often out of your control, and not letting self-doubt get the best of you.

"This song is special to us because it reminds us of something that’s often difficult to put into words. We always try to justify that there’s a particular thing preventing us from doing something, but at the end of the day - it always comes down to the fact that it’s a mindset and you’re often preventing yourself from getting where you want to be. We think everyone has a moment where they experience self-doubt, or like they’re not able to perform their best. When we wrote this song, we thought a lot about how there are people, or how your own mind will try to drag you down and make you feel like you’re not good enough. In the end, we’re all just trying our best and it’s about acknowledging that, knowing that we’ve all been there and felt that and that you can turn that feeling into something positive."
"Things Won’t Go My Way" arrives with its accompanied music video. Peach Tree Rascals cite The Truman Show serving as the main inspiration behind the video’s narrative. The frantic visuals and use of fish eyed lens stay true to their signature aesthetics with a storyline showing multiple characters going through a series of humorous yet misfortunate events. This time around they explore a more thematic approach but still display a carefree, genuine attitude often witnessed with their past endeavors.

Originally meeting in high school in San Jose, CA, Peach Tree Rascals is comprised of producer/mixer Dominic "Dom" Pizano, rappers-singers Issac Pech, Tarrek Abdel-Khaliq, Joseph Barros, and creative director Jorge Olazaba. For the guys, PTR is their extended family, and they've self-funded the project through various jobs including working at Red Lobster and their local print shop.
