David Archuleta Releases Music Video & Single 'OK, All Right'
Nashville-based pop artist and songwriter David Archuleta has released his latest single and music video for "OK, All Right" now available through YouTube and Spotify. This single is his first release of 2020 and is the introduction and teaser for whats in store for his upcoming album which is set to be released later this year.
The music video was co-directed by Glee favorite Kevin McHale (who also appears in the video) and up-and-coming director Justin Thorne. "OK, All Right" was written over a year ago, and its coincidental release during a global pandemic couldn’t come at a better time.
This new album is the follow up to his last album Postcards in the Sky which was released three years ago. Throughout his latest album, he comes to terms with anxiety, depress, and the struggle with mental health.
”I wrote ‘OK, All Right’ to vent a little about how little things that shouldn’t get to me get to me every now and then,” David explains. “While I wrote it originally to help people get through their bad days and moods in a bit of a humorous way, I think it’s something we can all use as a reminder in the world, especially these days. That even when things get tough, things will turn out OK, All Right.”
In 2008, at the age of 16 years old, more than 30 million television viewers fell in love with his voice on season 7 of American Idol. 44 million votes made him the runner-up and a fan favorite worldwide. Not long after, he debuted his single "Crush" at #2 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. According to Nielsen SoundScan, this debut track sold 166,000 downloads in its first week in the U.S. and subsequently more than 1.92 million digital copies to reach double platinum. Just three months later he released his self-titled album which went gold and sold more than 750,000 copies in the U.S., and more than 900,00 copies worldwide. Then during his most recent headlining tour in December 2019, it was 85% sold out.
