Hardcore Punk Band The Gay Agenda Releases New Album "Penetrating"
San Diego, CA "Homo Riot Hardcore Punks" The Gay Agenda has released their new album Penetrating via La Escalera Records along with a Bjork cover "Army Of Me".
This album was recorded entirely live in one take and was mixed and mastered by Ed Talorda. It perfectly and unapologetically blends punk and metal into punishing queercore chaos. Influences on their sound range from Limpwrist and The HIRS Collective to Napalm Death, Tragedy and Disrupt.
The 11 track album Penetrating includes the song "Homo Riot," featuring Justin Pearson (The Locust, Retox, Dead Cross). The vinyl edition includes the band's pummeling cover of Bjork's "Army of Me."
The Gay Agenda began in early 2017 as vocalist David Hurtt, guitarist Matt Penning, and Luis Imperator on drums, and joined shortly after by bassist Garrett Ficacci. Once they teamed up, they set out to make a spectacularly controversial statement that was undeniably queer and loud.
Following the independent release of their self-titled EP in 2018, the band embarked on a slew of successful shows over the next two years that built a reputation of chaos, debauchery, and fearlessness, while providing a strong voice for the queer punk community.
Maximum Rocknroll Magazine has declared The Gay Agenda, "unrelenting from start to finish... it embraces both spin kicks and gloryholes." Recording for 'Penetrating'- the much-anticipated full-length follow-up to their self-titled EP - began in 2019 after the band was offered a place on La Escalera Records.

"The idea of covering "Army of Me" came from our drummer Luis. He identified with the songs message of reaching your personal limit while dealing with someone who is selfish, constantly complaining and pushing you to the verge of exploding. He prognosticated "this is going to sound kick ass on the record", and took the reins on the on the composition."- David Hurtt (vocals)
