Spiritbox Releases Midsommar Inspired Music Video For Heavy Single 'Holy Roller'
Vancouver Island, Canada-based progressive metal group Spiritbox recently released their Midsommar inspired music video for their new heavy single "Holy Roller".
For those of you who were fans of the band iwrestledabearonce, then you immediately recognized Courtney LaPlante whether by face or her vocals. In 2017, she moved onto Spiritbox with her husband and guitarist Mike Stringer along with bassist Bill Crook. They released their self-released debut EP that October. Now fast forward 3 years later and they are currently working on their debut LP set to be released in 2021.
"This song was never intended to be a single," LaPlante reveals to Revolver. "We wrote it in January to be an 'angry' pallet cleanser on an otherwise dark, moody atmospheric album. Our mission statement was: 'Let's make the most ridiculous song that we can.' When we had the opportunity to tour Europe in March, we decided to put the unfinished song in our set, since we enjoyed it so much. Until our tour was cut short due to the pandemic, it was the highlight of each night."
